At preschool this month our children are talking about the idea of being thankful, and the idea that giving to others in our community is a way of showing thankfulness. Grace is participating in its annual food drive to benefit the local Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano, and we’re collecting non-perishable food items in the Circle Room. The items are lined up on the shelf behind Marlene’s chair, and the children enjoy both helping to bring in food and adding to the collection as well as watching the stack grow throughout the school days. A wonderful lesson for the kids and a worthy cause to benefit families in our community – what better way to celebrate Thanksgiving?
