Pancake breakfast was such a success this year, with everyone working together to put on a fantastic event.  The entire school pulled together at the decorating parties and  on the day of pancake breakfast to create the magic of Kids in Space and feed a roomful of family, friends, guests and alumni tasty pancakes.

A special thank you to the pancake breakfast committee, who put in many hours of hard work and planning in order to put on our school’s biggest event of the year.  The committee was led by Frith OSteen, whose dedication and hard work helped make the event  great.  Frith, and co-chair Jen Slattengren, put in countless hours and energy in planning the pancake breakfast.  Thanks, Frith and Jen!

P1000175The month of March brought Saturday school for M-Th (March 1) and MWF (March 8) classes.  This is a great chance for a non-cooping parent to experience the school day at Grace, and for children to share their school with a parent who doesn’t always get a chance to spend the day with us.

The end of the month (26th and 27th) brings one of my favorite school days of the year: PJ Day!  What other day does your child get to roll right out of bed and right on out the door to school?  Kids love the novelty of getting to spend the day in PJs, and we get some adorable pictures!  Remember shoes for your child, and a change of clothes in case your child gets too hot or too cold in their pjs.

il_570xN.461554485_1jbySpeaking of adorable pictures, if you haven’t had a chance to start on your Me and My Friends book, you might want to start thinking about your plans for this book.  This is a good time to decide what kind of book you plan to do: traditional scrapbook, online photobook, or photo album.  Take a look at pictures on the Grace shutterfly site that people have posted.  If you have not yet posted your own school pictures to the shutterfly site, please take a few minutes to share your pictures with the other families.

Finally, the nominations committee will be working this month on posting a slate for the 2014-2015 Board.  Keep an eye open for the nomination form in your cubbies and take a moment to nominate either yourself or someone else for one of the positions on the board.  It’s a great opportunity to get more involved, learn more about the inner-workings of the school.index

Thanks for your hard work, everyone! Look forward to a great and busy month!
